Great picture, Great Value, November 21, 2011 – By Specter (Fremont, CA)

Ordered the LG 55LV4400 55-inch flat screen after a lot of analysis and I’m really happy with it. First, the picture is bright and large and really great for sports and games. I tried various brightness choices and found one that worked good for the room quickly. Setup was fast. I took down the 37″, removed the mounts, attached them to the LG, and hung it back up. This thing is thin, and light. It weighs less than the Vizio it replaced.

I only had two connections – HDMI and power, since I use an AV receiver. Selected the right HDMI input and its done. My Harmony Remote had a listing for the TV as well, so I was finished with setup in about 15 minutes.

The product was well packaged and protected.

Decent, November 15, 2011 – By Erich Maria Remarque (USA)

It works great when connected to an HTPC. I used the HDMI port on my video card and the picture quality is amazing. It offers all the needed aspect ratio controls for when connecting directly to a cable box. I actually tried using it directly with the cable box (SD) and found that it was perfectly usable that way. Since it’s an SD box, I had to keep the aspect ratio either on autodetect or forced 4:3 (black bars on both sides). Also, for the best picture quality, disable the energy savings option in the menu.

Setting it us was easy. I would recommend that you get someone to lift the TV when attaching the stand, but I did it alone and didn’t encounter any difficulties.

As with most LCDs, volume is average. It’s loud enough for the small room where it’s currently located, but I would buy some standalone speakers if you are serious about movies.

I would definitely recommend this.
